My story of blessings of interesting interactions, 6 degrees of separation, Interesting people and assignments for an extrovert

I have been blessed in many ways.

I had an interesting IT career and other careers since then, including this new website.

I have interesting friends and I have met a lot of interesting people.

This has been great for an extrovert who would rather be worked to death than bored.

One of the truly interesting aspects of my life, one that I still view in disbelief is my meeting people who are themselves interesting and/or famous or are linked to famous and interesting people.

6 degrees of separation.

A ‘degree of separation’ is a measure of social distance between people. You are one degree away from everyone you know, two degrees away from everyone they know, and so on.

1 degree:

Grace Murray Hopper: She coined the phrase “computer bug” was famous as a early computer pioneer and was an admiral when she passed. She was connected to countless famous people.

Pat Korry: She was married to Ed Korry the Ambassador to Chile during the Allende controversy. She knew the Kennedys, Johnsons, Nixons, Gertrude Stein and a host of others. She was the first female radio broadcaster in post WWII Europe and interviewed Marshall Tito.

Bettino Viviano: Hollywood producer who knows of lot of actors.

My friend the British Lord: He knew Tolkien and CS Lewis.

My friend David: His uncle was the famous physicist Theodore Taylor.

Quite a few of my friends are current or previous college professors.

You get the idea.

Blessed.
